To all Owners / Residents –
Over the past 5 months, there has been an increase in realtor key lock boxes on the external railings of buildings around the community or sitting on top of building call boxes. Many of these lock boxes have remained even after new tenants have moved into the respective buildings. These external lock boxes are NOT permitted for various reasons, and sweeps are done from time-to-time to remove these lock boxes.
Based on a recent inspection of brick work, railings, and concrete around the community, we will be making improvements to the stair/railing areas in front of buildings as we head into the fall season. Additionally, there is an ongoing Verizon project to update wiring within the call boxes throughout the community, thus the call boxes will need to be opened without obstructions.
Please be advised as to the following and take immediate action:
- Realtor related key lock boxes and the like should be affixed to the door of the actual unit rather than being affixed to the external building railings or left above the building call boxes.
- Beginning Monday, August 4th, the on-site property management team will start cutting any external realtor lock boxes affixed to external railings, with the expectation that all lock boxes will be cut between August 4th to August 15th. Any lock boxes sitting on top of building call boxes also will be disposed of.
- Please remove all external key lock boxes ASAP to avoid the lock boxes being cut/removed and to make way for our continued community improvements.
If you have any questions regarding this, please submit an inquiry via Forms on the Westwood Village website at westwoodvillageuoa.com. Please note, however, that the property management team will not accept passcodes and take responsibility for removing and holding the key lock boxes for owners or realtors. Any potential deferral in cutting/removing a lock box will ONLY be considered if an owner/realtor has submitted an inquiry via Forms by August 3rd that indicates an exact date on which a specific address’s external lock box will be removed prior to August 15th.
