EV Chargers Ready for Use!

Dear Residents,

Westwood Village Condominiums is pleased to announce that, in partnership with the state of Virginia and Dominion Power, four EV chargers have been installed successfully along the back of Northern Neck Drive (parking spaces 201 to 204).
CCS electric vehicles should be compatible with the installed EV chargers with no adaptor needed.  Tesla vehicles will require use of the adapter that comes with Tesla vehicles.  Residents are solely responsible for assessing compatibility prior to use of the charging stations.
Instructions on how to use the chargers are located on the charging stations themselves.   A simple scan of the QR code on the charging stations will allow you to download the “powerpump” app.  Follow all instructions to correctly set up and begin using the chargers.
Please note the current rate charged is 40 cents per kilowatt hour.  Additionally, a 4.3% VA State Tax will be applied to all power purchases and any charges incurred for exceeding the maximum charge time (as specified in the Westwood Village EV Charging Rules).  This rate is subject to change based on changes to the underlying costs to provide and maintain the chargers and use of the supporting cloud software.
While using the charging stations, residents and their visitors should adhere to the EV Charging Rules as set forth below.
EV Charging Rules
1.  Only Westwood Village Condominium (WWVC) residents and their visitors (using the visitor parking tags) may use the chargers.   No Westwood Village Townhouse residents or visitors are permitted to use the charging stations at this time.  Any unauthorized vehicles using the charging stations will be subject to towing.
2.  Parking spots 201, 202, 203, and 204 should only be used for EV charging.  WWVC Residents and visitors should not park in these spots unless they are using the EV chargers.
3. WWVC residents and their visitors may charge up to a maximum of 4 hours.  After 4 hours, there is a 15 minute grace period to end the charging session and move the vehicle.  The charging station will also cut-off power automatically resulting in no further charging.  Any vehicle continuing to stay connected to a charging station after the grace period will pay a penalty of $5 per hour.
4. WWVC residents and visitors should exercise common sense and common courtesy with respect to the EV chargers.  To that end, WWVC residents and visitors should:
– Never unplug another vehicle while it is charging or connected to an EV charging station.
– Promptly remove your vehicle once done charging to allow others access to the limited chargers.
– Always return the charging cable to its proper place.
– Always unhitch your trailer while charging, if applicable.

The Westwood Village Condominium UOA will be monitoring initial usage for the next several months and will adjust pricing and the rules, in accordance with guidance from the ‘powerpump’ support team and any issues or feedback provided by you through the Westwood Village website.
—Respectfully
Westwood Village CUOA Board of Directors
