Hi Westwood Village Residents,
The Westwood Village UOA Board of Directors would like to remind all residents that it is the responsibility of all residents (owners and renters) to follow the trash rules of the community to maintain a clean and safe environment for all to live and enjoy. Please review and comply with the following trash disposal rules:
- Please place all trash within heavy plastic bags totally within toters. Ties or a sturdy knot must seal each bag. DO NOT USE PLASTIC OR PAPER GROCERY BAGS OR OTHER THIN, EASILY PUNCTURED BAGS.
- Every unit has garbage disposals in their kitchen sinks; please use them as much as possible to reduce unnecessary food and garbage from your trash.
- UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU ALLOWED TO PLACE ANY BAGS OR TRASH ON THE GROUND OUTSIDE OF THE TOTERS OR NEAR THE TOTER AREAS.
- Break down all cardboard boxes as much as possible before depositing them in the toters. If you have oversized items for disposal you may call American Disposal Services at 703-368-0500 to schedule a special bulk pickup.
- If your closest toters are all full, please take your trash to another group of toters where there is sufficient room such that the LIDS CAN FULLY CLOSE. If all the toters are full, please take your trash back to your unit and hold it until after the toters are picked up.
- Please be considerate of the residents that live close to the toters. This means that you should not deposit trash after 10 p.m. if it is absolutely necessary and whenever you do deposit trash after 10 p.m., do so QUIETLY. This means that you should ease the lid down carefully, DO NOT DROP OR SLAM IT CLOSED.
